Why do I have dandruff

Dandruff can be a vexing problem for many.

And so why do I have dandruff?

Where do they come from?

And how can I get rid of it totally?

There is a saying to say that dandruff is due to bad washing habits, or the use of wrong products. Yes, to a certain extent that this is correct. But dandruff is mainly due to stress and hormonal changes, something more internal. Of course, sometimes bad habits or using wrong products can attribute to it as well.

Our skin renew itself daily. Everyday when we walk, we bathe, we shed million of skin cells. It is normal for us to shed away dead cells daily, but we could not see it with our naked eyes, when the shedding process is normal. What causes this shedding on our scalp is a skin yeast that lives on our scalp. It is an agent that promotes the shedding of cells on our scalp. However, stress or hormonal changes can cause this skin yeast to grow excessively. This result in the shedding of cells much faster than the usual process. When we shed dead cells excessively, this is the time that we see dandruff. Dandruff is actually dead cells from our scalp.

So how can I cure my dandruff?

Most dandruff products contains zinc pyrithione, this is an ingredient that helps to control the growth of this skin yeast, to bring the shedding of cells back to the normal rate. If you have dandruff, I would recommend to use a dandruff leave-in product on the scalp as dandruff shampoos are usually used on the scalp for 3-5 mins before rinse off. While a leave-in product stays on the scalp for 7-8 hours, and can control the growth of this skin yeast even better.

Lastly, remember, products can only control the dandruff. Most importantly, you will have to sleep well and eat well. Stay relaxed and your dandruff will go away.

Read on to learn more and how to tackle oily skin.

Most Singaporean girls are troubled by the problem of an oily skin. However, another way to look at it, oily skin actually ages slower than other skin type. However, we wont want our face to look shiny at all times during the day, thus we should try to control the oil on our face.

Oily skin is caused by the over-active sebaceous glands (aka oily glands), that produces excessive amounts of oil towards the surface of our skin. Bacteria are in favor towards oily skin, and combined with the oil on our face and dead cells, it causes the pores to clog up, and later on form a pus, which is what we call pimples.

Oily skin are commonly caused by the imbalance of hormones, which can be caused by unhealthy eating diet, stress and lack of sleep. During Menstruation, you might find your face to be even oilier than norm, due to the greater imbalance in hormones.

Some tips for people with oily skin

1)Use Beautee Purifying/ Open Pores Ampoules on a regular basis. =)

2)Avoid food that is high in sugar and caffine

3)Plant extracts like Lemongrass, licorice root, and rosebuds are very good for oily skin

4)Use cold water to wash your face, as warm or hot water can stimulate the oil glands to produce even more sebum

5)When washing your face, rub gently in circular motion. But avoid very stimulating strokes which will make the oil glands even more active.

6)Avoid over-washing your face. [Twice a day is good enough] There is a protective layer on our skin, which is called the hydro lipidic film [made up of our sweat and sebum] which moisturizes and protects us skin. Over-washing will deplete this protective layer and thus your skin will react by producing more sebum.

7)Thus after washing your face, always apply a moisturizer so that your skin will not react by producing more sebum. For oily skin, always look for a water base moisturizer than an oil base.

How to Use 3D Facial Mask

How to Use the 3D Facial Mask

1) 1 Facial Mask Brush, 1 small glass bowl, 1 Mask Gauze, 1 packet of 3D Facial Mask of your choice and 1 small container (not shown in the pic).

2) Open the 3D Facial Mask Pack. Pour all the powder into the small container for keeping.

3) 1 packet of 3D Facial Mask is 33gm and can do up to 4 masks. Use a milk powder scope (5gm) and scope 1.5 scope (approx 8gm) into the glass bowl. Then add 3 scope of water. (approx 15ml)

4) Stir continously after adding water. And mask is ready to be applied. Put the Mask Gauze on your face and use the facial mask brush to apply the mask on your face. Wait for 15 mins for the mask to harden and peel off the facial mask gauze.

The above are the recommended anmount. You can add more or less powder according to your preference. The recommended amount of water to add is 2 scope of water for every 1 scope of powder.

How to use the Portable Ultrasonic Machine

1) Plug the Portable Ultrasonic Device to a power plug

2) On the device by pressing on the middle button

3) Press the right button for the Ultrasonic Function (warm function). Adjust the level by pressing the up and down buttons. Level 1-2 for normal skin and level 3-4 for dry skin.

4) When using, your hand must be in contact with the side buttons, so that the ultrasonic function will be activated. Wait awhile for the machine to heat up. Use it with Ampoules or Serums. Glide it in circular motion on your face. Avoid eye area.

5) To use the cold function, just press the left button. Immediately, the cold function will be turn on. Use it with a Gel Mask. Do circular motion on your face gently.

Cleanse
Cleanse your face with Max Fruit Cleanser (or your own cleanser). Wash your face to remove dirt, impurities and makeup.

Exfoliate
Scrub your face with a facial scrub. This is to remove dead skin and black heads from your face.

Steam (optional)

Most skin cell growth occurs when you are sleeping and thus the best time to apply an ampoule is before going to bed. These ampoules can be used daily. If you are applying makeup in the day, you can also apply the ampoules before putting on your makeup. It helps to prevent the makeup from clogging your pores.

Method of use for Beautee Face Ampoules

1. Cleanse face.

2. Using a tissue and break open the ampoule

3. Pour about 1/3 out onto palm and apply to face using fingertips to dab in the contents.

4. Product can be applied on neck and chest area. Do not use over eye area.
5. Wait for the ampoule to be absorbed completely into your skin before applying moisturizer.

6. Please do not used on open wound or peeling skin.

7. Remaining ampoule can be stored in the fridge.

Facial Cleansing Massage Steps

Cleansing your face daily is very important. By simply applying facial foam/cleanser on your face and rinsing off with water may not be good enough. Especially if you are outside the whole day, there is alot of dirt, dust and dead cells accumulated on your face. Thus proper cleansing is very important to remove all these impurities on your face thoroughly. Below you will find the steps for proper cleansing.

1) Using some facial foam or cleanser, emulsify with water. Start from the cheekbone. Do an "up- down" massage.

2) Using two fingers, do a clockwise direction massage at the area around your mouth.

3) Repeat this step with your left hand in an anti-clock wise direction.

3) Using 3 fingers, massage your cheeks in circular direction. In small circles, starting from the area near your nose and move outward towards your ears.

4) Close your eyes, and using two fingers massage area the eye. (When doing this step, you should use a cleansing gel suitable for the eye.)

5) Using one finger, do half circular motion massage around the area under the eye and above the eye.(When doing this step, you should use a cleansing gel suitable for the eye.)

Method of Use for Slimming/Firming Ampoules

1) Break open the ampoule with a tissue. (Be careful of the glass)

2) Pour some ampoule on hands and pat them on the body area that you want the ampoule to act on. (stomache, arms etc.)

3) Use 1/3 - 1/2 of the ampoule. Keep the rest in the refrigerator.

4) Suitable to be applied daily. Once opened, please do not keep it more than 3 days in the refrigerator.

Special Note:

For the Slimming Ampoules, it will have a warm and itching sensation after applying. (as it is trying to burn the fats in your body) Best if you use it in the day, when you are still moving around so that it helps to burn the fats faster. If you cannot bear with an itch, then I will advise you not to use them. However, the best way to apply is simply pat it on your body, and not rub. Rubbing will cause it to itch more. To minimise the itchiness, you can also stay in a cool place. Effectiveness of the product will depends on individual, but so far no complains. But of course, you must be diligent in applying.
